Effective July 1, 2024, Mr. Thomas Kost, in his role as Chief Technology Officer, is leading the strategic and operational direction of Research and Development at Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze SE.

 Following his Electrician Apprenticeship, Thomas Kost studied Electrical Engineering at the Regensburg University of Applied Sciences and has been active in the field of automotive wire harness and ED Systems since 1995. After holding various specialist and leadership positions, Mr. Kost was responsible for the R&D Department at Nexans autoelectric GmbH and afterwards, in the role of Senior Vice President, for the Department Technical Engineering Electric at the DRÄXLMAIER Group.

 In his current role, Mr. Kost is driving the transformation of the R&D organization at Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze SE with a clear focus on innovation, efficiency and system integration. His mission is to further strengthen the position Sumitomo Electric Bordnetze SE as a forward‑looking systems partner, actively shaping technological progress within the automotive industry.
